We collect only what the app needs to function.
When you sign in with Apple, Apple may share your name and email address with us. Both are optional — you control whether to share them during Apple's sign-in prompt, and you may use a private relay email address. We also ask you to set a display name after sign-in, which is used so trip members can identify who invited them.
When you take a photo in Revel, it is uploaded to our servers and stored there. Photos are only accessible to members of the same trip. EXIF data (including GPS location) is automatically stripped from every photo before it is stored — we never retain location information from your camera.
When you create a trip, we store the trip name, dates, and timezone you provide.
We assign each account a unique internal identifier. This identifier is used to link your photos, trips, and purchases together.
If you buy extra shots (a "roll") through in-app purchase, we record the transaction ID, product ID, and the shots credited. Apple processes payment — we never receive your payment method details.
We use your information solely to operate Revel:
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build profiles for purposes unrelated to Revel.
Every photo you upload is automatically scanned by two systems before it is stored:
These scans run once at upload time. No human reviews photos unless a trip member submits a deletion request.

By using Revel, you consent to your data being transferred to and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Photos are stored in a private bucket and are never publicly accessible — they are served only as short-lived signed URLs to authenticated trip members.
Photos and trip content are deleted 14 days after the trip's end date. If you purchase extended storage, photos are retained for the duration of your active storage subscription. Photos are permanently deleted 14 days after your storage subscription lapses or your account is deleted, whichever comes first.
Account information is retained until you delete your account.
Purchase records are retained for 7 years for financial record-keeping purposes, even after account deletion. This is required for compliance with Canadian tax law.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

If you join a trip via the App Clip (without creating an account), we create a temporary anonymous session for you. Your photos and trip membership are stored under that session for the duration of the trip plus 14 days. If you upgrade to a full account by signing in with Apple, your session and photos carry over to your permanent account. If you never upgrade, your data is deleted when the trip retention period expires.

Revel is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, please contact us at hello@revel.pics and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Revel after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
